Practical Methods to Increase CTR & CPC - Google Adsense Guide

,

CTR means Click through Rate, A ratio of number of Ad clicks according to Ad Impressions. CPC means Cost per Clicks. After getting AdSense approval I started creating different ad units for my blog with thinking of making huge money from AdSense.

Here in this article we going to discuss some practical method using which you can increase your AdSense CTR & CPC, So Let us know which those methods are.

Blog Layouts & Ad Sizes affect CTR

Google & Other bloggers say that big Ads attract more user attention, this is not 100% true. If your blog width is too high and even you are using Big Ad sizes, There is no guaranty of getting High CTR in those big Ad units. If your blog's width is pretty low and you use 300X250 unit then there is 98.99% chances of getting more user attention in your Ad units. Large rectangle 336X280 unit is a best performing ad unit for small width blogs.

Put Ads near the Navigation Areas

A user comes to your blog to read your article, while reading he concentrate only on the content he reading and for which he comes to your blog, he only will click on the Ad when he navigate your blog or when he completed reading of your article so it is best idea to place Ad Below the End of your article and near the navigation links of your blog.

Remove Border and Background colors from Ad unit

There are three types of Ad clicks occurred in blog, first is Accidental Click and second is Confusion Click and last is Interest based click. Accidental Clicks are occurred by the user while surfing your blog, Some bloggers put Facebook like popup exactly above the Ad unit, When user click on Skip button, Chances of accidental clicks get increased (We do not Recommend to use this strategy of getting clicks). Sometimes a user clicks on link ads in the confusion, he thinks that the link is a part of that blog. Interest based ads are clicked by users who keeps cookies On in their browser, Google collects cookies from the user's browser and serve the Ads of those sites and products which were previously seen by users in their browser. Just remove border and background from your Ad units to make it not looking as an Ad.

Block Low Paying Ads to Increase CPC

Low paying Ads appears and user clicks on the Ad and you get less amount of money, it means your single clicks are going waste. Just block such Ads, to do this go to ctrlq.org/sandbox and put your blog link and hit enter, you will see the list of Ad units appear in your blog. Just copy the link of Ad and go to the keywordspy.com and put the Ad's link and hit Enter. You can see the PPC price of that Ad, if the price is low then note that link in notepad, Do the same with other Ads and make a list of URLs of low paying Ads. Now login to your AdSense account and click on "Allow/Block Ads" option at the top, Put all those low paying Ad's URLs you noted on notepad and block them. By doing this you will able to get quality Ads in your blog through which you can get Higher CPC.

Avoid More Ads for Higher CPC

People thinks that more Ads means more money, they are wrong. It is important to know that High payable Ad appear first and second appearing ad is less low payable unit than first, Third unit is low payable than second. In this situation if user click on second or third unit then you will lose the chance of getting high amount of money from first unit. Just use one or two AdSense Ad units to get Higher CPC.

Quality Traffic & Clicks will Definitely Increase CPC

Users from USA/Canada/UK are more valuable than Users from Asian Countries In terms of AdSense Earning. Try to get quality traffic & Clicks from USA/UK/Canada to get High AdSense CPC.
